Whistle Pass by KevaD (a.k.a. David Kentner)

On the battlefields of WWII Europe, Charlie Harris fell in love, and after the war, Roger marched home without a glance back. Ten years later, Charlie receives a cryptic summons and quickly departs for his former lover’s hometown of Whistle Pass.

But Roger Black isn’t the lover of Charlie’s dreams anymore. He’s a married, hard-bitten political schemer who wants to secure his future by destroying evidence of his indiscreet past. Open homosexuality is practically a death sentence, and that photo would ruin Roger and all his wife’s nefarious plans.

Caught up in foggy, tangled events, Charlie turns to hotel manager Gabe Kasper for help, and Gabe is intrigued by the haunted soldier who so desperately desires peace. When helping his new lover places Gabe in danger, the old warrior in Charlie will have to take drastic action to protect him... or condemn them both.

I currently have 103 works archived on the AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 103 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like about it.

IDK what I'm weirded out by more, the fact that I've apparently posted 142k on AO3 all in all or that everyone else who's doing this meme seems to have way more stories than I do! I didn't know so many of my friends had written so many stories :D

The tickets are booked, the Annual Leave is booked - trip USA-ITALY IS GO!

Destinations (planned dates) are San Francisco (25th-29th August), Greater Denver area (29th-2nd Sept), North Carolina (2nd-6th Sept), and New York City (6th-9th). And then it's off to Italy with the parentals (and my uncle) for three weeks.

I am staying with people for the first three locations, and will probably be hostelling it in NYC. I'm contemplating couchsurfing in NYC, but am *handwobble* on the safety aspect. Never done it before, not so sure I want to try it.

I am always up for meeting fannish people - anything from a meal to coffee to whatever you have the spoons for.

Suggestions on what to do/see in NYC in particular would be very welcome!

Conference is over, and entirely possibly a success. Logistically, it went smoothly enough that the biggest thing affecting my full functioning on day 1 was that the charger I'd brought wasn't working, forcing me to fall back on the emergency battery charger.
