I stole the caption of a T-shirt I saw sometime after the Deepwater Horizon spill. It's been criticized on the grounds that drought is bad, which is fair, but as far as I've heard we still don't have a way to clean up the Gulf short of dumping in truckloads of dishsoap, which we are not trying for obvious reasons.

I was enrolled in Oregon State. Might be still, I'm afraid to look. Still getting emails to my OSU account, anyway. (Not pertinent emails, I'm an online student, things about power outages on campus and sex offenders on campus are not things I care about.) I overloaded myself on summer semester and then I bombed everything that summer, not just school. (You may have noticed a distinct lack of words in this journal from about May to about October?) And now I can't go back until this fall, because I'm on academic probation with my employer who is paying (that is, was supposed to be paying, there was a paperwork snafu somewhere and it never happened for the summer, I had to get a loan) my tuition, and academic probation means they'll pay me back for tuition but I have to have the up-front money which I don't.

Queen of Swords from the Hanson-Roberts deck. Also my 'hi it is tarot time' icon. I like the Queen of Swords; she embodies honesty, straightforwardness, wit, intellectual pursuit, all qualities I like to think I have and certainly want to live up to. And isn't the art gorgeous?

Seriously, maharet83? Aisha's just marvelous in this scene. I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to use her, though, there haven't been any incidents involving me on Dreamwidth in the past monthish where "I don't give a fuck" is a reasonable response to the situation.
