I hate snow. I hate driving in snow. I hate walking in snow. I hate getting
snow off my car. I hate being late to work for no good reason; snow counts
as no good reason.

I hate having a broke fan, and therefore effectively no heater, in my car.
I hate thirty-deg-F temperatures. I hate bathroom faucets with no
temperature controls and thus no way to get warm water with which to thaw
my hands. I have band gloves and I can type while wearing them as you see,
but I hate them too.

pauamma, the joke from last post goes more or less that in Orthodox
Judaism, the rabbi's wife is pregnant, in Conservative Judaism the rabbi is
pregnant, and in Reform Judaism, the rabbi and her wife are both pregnant;
I am wondering about acceptance of trans and genderqueer people. lliira,
what's 'normal'? myaibou, this is my first pack of contraceptive pills
ever, so. monthlyinfo.com says I was due circa the 19th, and I started the
pack on the 13th, and hello cramps I thought the pills were supposed to
make you go away.

*trades your snow day for the 50-deg-F day here, so far*

cramps killers, in no particular order: heat, ice, menstrual cup

Premsyn worked yesterday, well enough I forgot the second dose, so now AWAKE with CRAMPS though I only went to bed four, five hours ago. Applying heat. Applying simultaneous ice seems counterproductive. Never got around to buying a menstrual cup; they sound messy.

This comment is gonna be kinda gross, cuz well, my periods are ludicrous.

I don't really know what "normal" is, except that my period definitely is not. I have a Diva cup, and it says your entire period is supposed to fit in one of those things. I have to empty it at least hourly the first day of my period, and every two hours the second and third days. I've always had way, way heavier periods than anyone I've ever known -- they used to last 8 days when I was in high school. When I got on the pill, they went down to 5 heavy days, and my cramps went down to mostly-manageable levels (though definitely not gone); all the women my age I knew who were on the pill had light (by my standards), 3-5-day periods. At age 36, my periods are down to 4-5 days now, even off the pill, but that's because they've become front-loaded. I cannot leave the house on the first day because there is not yet technology that can keep up with my period.

Soooo... yeah. I'm pretty sure I have fibroids, and now that I have health insurance, I will finally be able to deal with them soon.

I get really bad cramps, and heat works better than anything else for them. Heat plus Midol plus avoiding caffeine and salt.
