So when John says he's a mechanic from a family of mechanics, he means his mom's family?

I wonder does he mean his mom. Be unusual in that era (hell, unusual today), but I don't think quite unheard of?

Did Dean actually tell Henry not to go back to John because that might fuck up Sam and Dean's existence? What happened to 'we need to never have existed' 5x13? What happened to 'angels put lots of effort into ensuring your existence' 5x14? CONTINUITY, PEOPLE.

I wish I could just get the season watched already. I'm clearly not actually breaking up with the show no matter how much I sometimes want to this season, but it would be nice to have the whole canon thus far to work with and I still haven't seen anything past 8x02. 8x11 and 8x12 sound like I need to see them ASAP, and apparently I am writing a thing with a character from one of the middle eps (don't ask), I'm just hung up on the general trend of reactions.

Yeah, so I hear. I just get stuck on watching things out of order. I watched 4x01 first by happenstance and S4 concurrently with S1-S3 because the DVDs weren't out yet, and I haven't seen 7x08 and don't plan to until I get there in Epic Bechdel Project (which is apparently on indefinite hiatus), but there's eight episodes between the most recent I've seen and 8x11 and my brain will not let me skip them.
