Dear little sister:

STOP FAT-SHAMING YOUR BABY SISTER.

Point one: she is, even by the bullshit BMI measure, well within normal weight range for her height.

Point two, which could and maybe should be point only because point one is much less relevant: we are trying to inspire self-confidence in her, and making baby sister feel bad about her body is not a route to baby sister having self-confidence.

Is she at all open to learning about actual human physiology? If so, www.thefatnutritionist.com.

But it sounds like she needs a bigger intervention. She seems to have bought into the idea that it's okay to judge women and girls by their appearances, that our appearances are absolutely central to our worth. That's really worrisome.

I don't know. I know science isn't her thing, but that doesn't mean health isn't.

Yeah, something like that. :( I know she's gotten all clotheshorse in the past year or two, but that isn't necessarily a warning sign, you know?
