I have officially broke down and Google Translated a fic.

The pairing I want to read just now, there's three fics on AO3. One is a/b/o. Do not presently want. One I wrote. Do not presently want. And I don't know anyone who speaks Russian well enough to say 'here is a ficlet in Russian, make it English' and also that would require the author's approval.

Well, now I want to know what pairing it is so I can go read the a/b/o. :D

I do recall Google Translating a fic from Russian, ages ago. And every so often I'll reading something in Spanish, just for practice.

Ha ha! I had to think a minute to figure out which pairing that would be. Alas, no new a/b/o for me. I am intrigued by the pairing, though - was the Russian one any good?

Concept's good. No idea about execution, because the machine translate has of course fucked it all to hell. Google doesn't even know all the words.

I've done that. It's a sloppy way to get new fic, but sometimes a pairing or fandom just itches at me until I translate the fic. And most of them do tend to be in Cyrillic of some kind, so it fails to carry context

Ha! *HIGH FIVES YOU* I did that just the other day with a crossover fic that I JUST. HAD. TO. READ. that was written in German. The translation was hideous, but I read it anyways.
