Okay. Going off to write a little speech to practice until I'm sure I can say it all without talking too fast or slurring or any of the multitudinous things I do that make it not really worth using my voice especially over the phone, and then calling my senators and representative. (ETA: chickened out of the phone bit and can't find a text-based contact form for my rep, but have sent the text of my notspeech to both my senators.) And then probably writing fic involving possessed Supreme Court Justices.

Assuming price is the most important determinant(factor) impacting both concepts —direct quote from the discussion board for my economics class. (Posting on said board is homework. This is a new and different experience.) I posted earlier, saying I wasn't so sure of the validity of the assumption. Professor emailed me saying it's not an assumption, it's a proven fact.

Judging by Twitter, this is revelatory, so: 2014!Dean is last-ten-years-of-hell!Dean. He hasn't seen Sam in years and Sam's presence is important to keeping him human, he's been living in hellish conditions for years and the absence of same is also important to keeping him human, there's no reset button to revert him to before things went to hell and he knows it...also he's torturing again, but that's a symptom, not the cause.

Pick a paragraph (or any passage less than 700 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic (fic series, fic universe), lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

Brennan's latest puzzle: there's knife marks and rust spots between two of the victim's lower-back vertebrae, there's no way that knife could have avoided severing his spinal cord, and all indications are that the victim was alive and walking under his own power for at least a year after the injury.

(2) Supernatural/Bones fic. Brennan's latest puzzle: the victim's (victims'?) ribs have all these carvings on them and there's no marks on the surrounding tissue indicating how the carvings got there.

(3) Supernatural fic. Always-a-girl!John.

(4) Supernatural fic. You know how the show is increasingly insistent that SPNverse is Abrahamic-monotheistic, or used to be so and is now atheistic, when the first three seasons made it pretty clear that SPNverse is polytheistic? (Except Faith and Houses of the Holy, which set up this dynamic for seasons four and five.) Take that Abrahamic/atheistic dichotomy and KILL IT. KILL IT DEAD.

(5) Supernatural fic. The angels are obviously not above using unethical means to persuade Dean...well, Ben Braeden isn't the only person out there who's probably Dean's kid. (Just the only one Dean knows about so far.) And judging by Claire Novak, whatever makes Dean and Sam suitable angelic vessels has even odds (if not a guarantee) of being passed on to Dean's kids...

(6) Supernatural fic. Adam Milligan's a fan of Carver Edlund.

(7) Supernatural/Criminal Minds fic. Anything; there's not enough out there.

(8) Supernatural fic. Jake and Ava didn't have any trouble picking up new psychic abilities and Max, Andy, and Ansem had no trouble expanding the ones they started with. Contrast Sam. Something explaining why this is. Bonus if the answer is something Mary did.

(9) Supernatural fic. Remember the Delawarean burgers from Lucifer Rising? The case John was working when Dean encountered those.

So I have recently discovered another one of those fabulous series that Fox canceled because Fox is heavy on morons. It's a police procedural (apparently that genre's my new shiny, what with this and NCIS and Bones and Castle and Criminal Minds) set in New Orleans a couple years after Katrina, ten episodes aired that didn't generate high enough ratings for Fox to bring it back after the writers' strike, and one of the episodes guest-stars Mark Pellegrino. Combine that with tonight's rerun of "Sympathy for the Devil", and, well...

Rating: PG-13 except for that pesky little F-word.
Summary: Spoilers for Supernatural 5x01 "Sympathy for the Devil" and K-Ville 1x01 "Pilot" and 1x06 "AKA" (on Hulu, I'll wait; if you're outside the US, sorry, I don't know where else to find it).
